Why should I refit over buying new?
Refit projects completed by Maritime Yacht Services (MYS) have been noted as better than in their original new condition, justifying the question regularly asked, 'Why should I refit over buying new?'. The state of a well-used boat can be deemed a right off; however, with their skilled experts, they can replace and recondition every element of your vessel to state-of-the-art. They are ultimately saving considerable amounts of valuable funds that can be redirected elsewhere. Design changes are also possible if a boat is not performing as required; their technical engineers and design team can identify and provide reliable solutions to ensure a more efficiently run vessel.
MYS has access to first-class facilities, where the vessels are given the care and attention you expect. Offering a full range of services including, but not limited to, paint, structural & GRP repairs, respray facilities, electronics, fixture and fittings, engineering and installation, teak decking, tube repair and replacement.

Maritime Yacht Services are the end service providers, facilitating your requirements; therefore, your vessel will not be sent to another firm nor managed remotely; you will be communicating directly with Sophie and James and your designated project manager on the ground. Thus, at any time, you will know precisely at what stage the scheduled work commences, including weekly cost reports sent with photo records.
Does the boat need to go to the UK?
Although MYS is based in the UK, Sophie sends teams worldwide and has been for years; so if you wish your vessel's works to be carried out in your home port, this can be undertaken; but don't rule out the UK, a temporary import can be a cost-effective solution utilising MYS's local resources and first-class facilities and can often shorten the time of a project. Using their trusted transporting agents, they can ship yachts from anywhere in the world back to Southampton in the UK. This allows MYS to streamline tasks to work intensively and cost effectively.

I'm concerned with the length of time my vessel is out of action:
Projects have a reputation for escalating into often complex and costly affairs. Sophie and James at MYS ensure that each stage runs as smoothly as possible; pre-planning meetings to establish client expectations and specifications, as well as limiting the chance of delays and rising costs. They know that time-sensitive projects rely on accurate estimation of task durations and substantial resources available. They ensure that everything is managed effectively with impeccable communication and structure whilst staying flexible for the client.
"I am very fortunate that my refit teams are predominantly from a superyacht tender and high-performance manufacturing background, understanding the quality required, whose dedication to excellence and knowledge couldn't be more fitting to satisfy our client's requirements. Many of my team I have known for over twenty years, and we work as one large extended family. It is not a job; it's a way of life to us all," states Sophie Tapp.
